Being entirely honest with yourself is a good exercise.

Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy

I offer individual psychoanalytic psychotherapy to (young) adults in both English and Dutch in the Haarlem area.

Sessions can take place one, two or three times per week.

Together, we will uncover unconscious patterns that may be causing difficulties in your life. Psychoanalytic psychotherapy may be suitable if you feel stuck in your past, feel unable to break a repeating cycle, or seek deeper self-discovery. In time, we aim to gain insight into yourself and your relationships, and to develop a higher degree of freedom, acceptance and confidence in your daily life.

  • Session fee: €100

In cases of strong motivation but insufficient financial means, rates can be negotiated.

Cancellations are possible up to 48 hours in advance; for later cancellations the regular fee will be charged.

Insurance. I do not have contracts with health care insurance companies, which means that the treatment is not covered by the insurance. By working in private practice, there is no need for a diagnosis, and more flexibility around the therapeutic time frame. The focus lies entirely on what we deem as helpful together.

  • Confidentiality. As an NIP-registered psychologist, I am bound by professional confidentiality. However, in cases of emergency, I will discuss with you whether I contact third parties for consultation. I partake in regular supervision where anonymised cases are discussed to foster my constant development as a therapist.

Non-suitable cases. In the following situations my practice is not suitable: severe eating disorders, addiction, psychotic disorders, urgent suicidality, neurological disorders, and severe aggression. If you do not know where to seek appropriate support, I can help to refer you to a suitable colleague.

Complaints. If you have a complaint or an issue, that we cannot resolve together, you may register a complaint with NIP.

Data-privacy. Personal and health-related data are processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
